An extra $660,000 in prizemoney will be on offer in the new financial year following an announcement from the state government on Friday.
The three per cent increase will take effect from July 1 and will be allocated between codes in accordance with advice from Tasracing and code representatives.
"While many industry participants had expected stakes money to be reduced in 2020-21 due to the loss of racing revenue over recent months, the increase will be very welcome news," Racing Minister Jane Howlett said.
Tasmanian racing will return from a shutdown of more than 10 weeks on Sunday with a thoroughbreds meet at Mowbray Racecourse.
