Northern Rangers Football Club and South Launceston Cricket Club share the No.2 ground at the NTCA complex with the end of August the normal time to switch between their sports.
But with season delays and extensions caused by the coronavirus, winter competitions are set to impinge on summer counterparts.
Rangers and Knights say they have been liaising through the shutdown to try and reach a mutually helpful outcome.
"We've been working with cricket on this so we can both get a season," said Rangers acting president Dale Coombe.
"Cricket have been very understanding of our situation when we asked if we could extend our access to the ground into August.
"We tried to find a solution to the problem and are grateful to the cricket club and NTCA board for being open in those conversations."
The process involved Rangers asking Football Tasmania if they could play more home games earlier in their campaign and finish with more away fixtures to allow the cricketers to move in at the venue.
"We said if we could have away games scheduled in October that would help the Knights and they seem to have been very open to that suggestion," Coombe added.
"We are still waiting on a proposed roster which we expect will have us playing a lot of home games early and away games late but if that's a way of competing in the competition, I don't think it's unreasonable and we prefer that to having no access to the ground in September and October."
South Launceston president Jeremy Jackson said the club had also tried to be as flexible as possible to accommodate Rangers' requirements.
With the cricket square situated between the main and secondary grounds off Boland Street, Jackson was confident the two clubs could co-exist harmoniously and respect each others turf.
"It's nice for the clubs to team up to help each other," said the lethal leg-spinner.
