A pygmy right whale that was stranded at Stanley has been re-floated, according to the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment.

DPIPWE confirmed the 5-metre-long whale was stranded at Tatlows Beach about 11.20am on Saturday morning.
There were no apparent signs of entanglement.
In other news:
Parks and Wildlife Service staff worked with members of DPIPWE's Marine Conservation Program and local onlookers to re-float the whale safely.
A young humpback whale was also reported to be stranded nearby at Black River.
DPIPWE confirmed the whale had perished a day ago.
DPIPWE said it will monitor nearby beaches in the coming days in case the pygmy right whale becomes re-stranded.
