A burst water main impacted West Launceston and Glen Dhu residents last Saturday night, causing a part of the road to collapse but there has been an ongoing leak investigation at the site says TasWater.

On social media residents said the burst main on the corner of Connaught Crescent and Glen Dhu Street had been part of ongoing problems.
A TasWater spokesperson confirmed there was an ongoing leak investigation at the site, which involved some excavations of the water main, water sampling and leak detection.
However they said records did not show any other water main failures at the intersection before the May 30 burst.
"TasWater makes decisions on prioritising the renewal of assets such as water main based on asset failure risk," they said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"There is no plan for any renewal at this stage as there is no evidence of any failures recorded in the asset management information system previously.
"The Network Asset Performance team will carry out some investigations to determine the asset condition and its criticality due to this event."
TasWater were unable to provide the number of road reseals or reinstatements they had contracted out at the site or the amount of money spent on doing so.
"We are unable to give you a number, however TasWater will continue to resolve any safety hazards in relation to road reinstatements as soon as possible after they are identified," the spokesperson said.
