Beginning with a clash between Launceston and Clarence in 2007, the code took off to feature six teams in the 2010 Tasmanian Women's AFL competition.
In a season where future AFLW player Britt Gibson took out the league best and fairest for East Devonport, Clarence advanced to the grand final undefeated.
The Roos defeated Launceston by seven points in the semi-final but the Blues had the last laugh, brushing aside North Hobart in the preliminary final before taking a 11.4 (70) to 8.12 (60) win in the grand final.
The game secured Launceston's first premiership and berthed the careers of many future stars.

Kiara Foley kicked five goals in the 2010 decider to share the league goalkicking award with North Hobart's Kieren Hutchinson.
After a stint with Evandale, Foley made her way to South Launceston and won the NTFAW premiership and leading goalkicker award last season.
She will be joined at the Bulldogs by fellow flag Blue Courtney Bradford in 2020.
Jessica Casey and Letitia Johnston both played in Scottsdale's 2017 TWL North flag, with the latter signing up for Bridgenorth this season, while Amanda Sweeney was player-coach at Rocherlea in 2017 and 2018.
