Last month the Northern Bombers vowed to return to training only when an in-principle agreement had been reached for how senior and junior competitions could run in the COVID-19 landscape.
But a positive meeting with AFL Tasmania has State League clubs more bullish than ever about getting under way next month.

"As a demonstration of our growing confidence we have made the decision to return to structured training within the next fortnight for TSLW and TSL players," North Launceston president Thane Brady said.
"We owe it to the competitions' players to exhaust all and every possibility to make a season happen.
"We will need the co-operation of many to support us and we are seeking out their assistance as we speak.
"We continue working through the feasibility of playing junior footy this year."
Tasmania welcomed the good news of an early admission into stage two restrictions on Tuesday, with groups of 20 to be permitted from 3pm Friday.
Stage three restrictions - originally scheduled to begin July 13 - are also likely to be brought forward.
Brady said his club was preparing for a season starting at the end of July.
"We continue to work co-operatively with AFL Tasmania and other TSL clubs investigating if a 2020 season could go ahead," Brady said.
"It's a complex situation with many variables, some of which are out of our hands.
"As the days go on we gain in confidence a season can and will go ahead.
"Likely it will not commence until late July to ensure we respect current COVID-19 protocols and to allow a small amount of time for the players to undertake contact training."
The TSL season had been set to begin on April 4 before the coronavirus outbreak forced the postponement of all football statewide until at least May 31.
The TSLW, which was scheduled to begin this month, had not issued a fixture when the outbreak began.
