A TFS spokesperson said the house on the corner of Crown and Twining Streets, Launceston was believed to be a derelict house.
IN OTHER NEWS:
They said TFS were in attendance and continued to battle the blaze.
"On arrival house was well involved in fire," they said.
"Crews [are] continuing to extinguish [the] fire in [the] roof space."
The cause of the fire and the amount of damage remains unknown at this stage.
