The 31-year-old has been charged with wounding, breach of restraint order, and destroy property.
He was due to appear in Hobart Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.
EARLIER: A Hadspen man has been arrested in relation to an alleged wounding at Weily Place, Bridgewater in the state's South.
The 31-year-old remains in police custody after a targeted search at a Bridgewater residence involving police from Glenorchy, Bellerive and Bridgewater.
The man is assisting police with their inquiries.
Tasmania Police Sergeant Robert Bessell thanked members of the public who provided information.
"Police would like to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident and the offender and victim were known to each other," he said.
