In the last of a series of previews on the NTFA's women's competition, The Examiner looks at Scottsdale, who face the prospect of fielding a very different side this season.
Coach: Cabel Hall
Co-captains: Georgie Dare and Alex Hall
2019 finish: Runners-up with eight wins and two losses - defeated by 11 points in the grand final at the hands of South Launceston.
Ins: Alex Hall (returning), Michaela Carins, Montana Bowerman (both returning, North Launceston), Kate Minchin (Old Launcestonians), Ella Jones, Danielle Walters (both North Launceston), Phoebe Taylor McKain (Flinders Island), Grace Cornish, Ellen Simons, Jesse Wallace, Maddie Lightfoot, Chloe Dale, Meg Krushka.
Outs: Letitia Johnston, Jess Casey, Mikayla Binns, Raigan Kettle, Ruby Slater, Pam Roles, Brittany Woolley, Jayna Aitken, Maggie Aitken, Cara Howlett, Hollie Viney, Danielle Kelly, Christina Kelly, Kresta-Lee Davis.
Who's impressed: Hall named Alex Hall, Kate Minchin, Georgie Dare, Georgia Knight, Ashlee Kerrison, Grace Cornish and Ellen Simons as players that have impressed him with their work in the pre-season.
Coach says: "One of the downsides of being relatively successful for our entire time is that other clubs notice that you've got good players and you get poached a lot from the statewide," Hall said.
"We are all for our girls going on and trying themselves at the next level but we think we've given them a solid base of knowledge of coaching and skills to get them there.
"In saying that, we've always been about improvement and that is from first-year players to top-end talent and I believe in personal improvement which helps the team improve as well.
"Although we've lost a lot of top-end talent, we've also gained a lot back through Alex Hall, Kate Minchin, Michaela Carins and we are going to be younger, faster but lacking a bit more in experience.

"I've said at the start of each of our seasons that there are no expectations until we get well into the season and find out where we are at and we reassess where we go from there, but during pre-season, we were just trying to have fun, trying to improve and were really looking forward to playing.
"For May, we've set up a points challenge and that's been fantastic. We've got six leaders, each in teams of four, and it's a challenge for each team to earn fitness or skills points throughout the week and we've had different things chucked in there for double points day.
"For instance, you get 100 points per kilometre you run, you get a point for every time you get a handball or a kick, so it's been quite fun and competitive and there's been some banter which has kept the spirits high between the group."
