This includes the Launceston City Mission's Newnham store, which reopened its doors last Monday.
Retail manager Gary Biber said so far community response to the store's doors being open once more had been quite good.
"We've actually been busier, even though our hours have been shorter, than we were before the lockdowns," he said.
"I think people have missed their op shopping, everything's going quite good."
Mr Biber said customers have been buying more than usual, in particular goods needed for families over the colder months.
"This time of year and with what's happening, people have also missed what City Mission can provide for them as far as cheap clothing or blankets," he said.
"But also through our family services where we help people out who are in need of furniture or bedding ... there's been a bit of an influx of that so people we're obviously missing out on that while we've been closed as well.
In other news:
"As soon as you put a rack of blankets of thick coats out the next time you look it's all disappeared; obviously those sorts of things are what people are looking for at the moment."
Launceston City Mission has not been accepting donations during the peak pandemic period, however Mr Biber said the charity that will be possible from June 1.
"City Mission will be taking normal donations in terms of clothing furniture and brick a brack," he said.
"We've already got people asking if we're taking donations at the moment -there's people that have got more time at home than they normally do ... they've had a bit of a clean up and are looking to donate."
Mr Biber added that other City Mission shops, including Launceston City store, will reopen in the coming weeks as more volunteers become available.
"We rely heavily on volunteers ... we got a couple back last week and a couple this week so that's a gradual process," he said.
"When we were ringing to let volunteers know we're opening back up and they were free to come back, pretty much all of them were pretty excited and had been missing it and had been keen to get back to helping out so that was really good."
