In the Mood - Launceston's Music and Dance Spectacular, is a project by dancers Bec Reedman and Andreis Plotkans.
Ms Reedman said the event would be aimed at celebrating the diverse talent in Launceston and Tasmania of dancers, performers and musicians.
"Launceston is a thriving hub of performing arts talent, but limited opportunities ultimately mean our most talented tend to move to the mainland," she said.
"This event is designed to showcase our talent and bring the best of the mainland performers to us.
"Making Launceston a desired destination for visitors & providing locals with events to look forward to."

Flash mobs, cabaret, performances and dance classes themed around the 1920s would feature in this event, which Ms Reedman said is part of embracing the entire community in the festival and not merely dancers.
"In the 1920s, community parties were a huge part of life, but today our communities can be more isolated, so this event will bring people together from all walks of life to just have a good time," she said.
The dance spectacular would be held in the Spring of 2021 at a variety of venues for a weekend.
"The community will have multiple 'event' choices and they will accommodate singles, couples, families, seniors, and all sectors of the community," Ms Reedman said.

"In the Mood is intended to put Launceston on the map, for what's hoped to be a spectacular event adding to the existing profile of Launceston by generating greater colour, vibrancy and excitement," Ms Reedman said.
"Once the word gets out, locals, visitors, musicians and dancers will want to be here to take part in the 'In the Mood' festival."
