The Launceston Youth Advisory Group and West Tamar Youth Advisory Council have joined forces to create the #StayHomeSaveLivesLaunceston competition.
Coronavirus: All the latest updates on COVID-19 for Tasmania
Claudia Taylor, the City of Launceston council's youth development officer, said advisory group members came up with the idea after Youth Week events were cancelled because of COVID-19.
In other news:
"It's for 10 to 25-year-olds, they just have to do a public post either on Facebook or Instagram and use [the hashtag] #stayhomesaveliveslaunceston," she said.
"It could be anything, a photo or video type of thing...we've seen probably about 30 to 40 posts from still photos to videos and a lot of TikTok dance videos and that type of thing."
The competition concludes on May 4. A winner, to be chosen randomly, will take home a $100 JB Hi-Fi gift card.
