The development application to the Meander Valley Council is proposing a private abattoir at Lot 3 Den Road, Mole Creek.
A mix of pigs, sheep and cattle will be processed at the facility.
The nearest residences are located 350 metres to south and 500 metres to the west of the proposed development.
According to the application the land is used for grazing but would be developed into a private abattoir to service livestock from the farm. No live stock will be transported from other farms.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"The maximum production applied for is 100 tonnes per annum," the application said.
"However, it is anticipated that initial production will likely only be 50 tonnes per annum."
A field survey found there were karst outcrops and an active sinkhole within 100m of the development but they were separated by ridge lines.
"It is anticipated that the abattoir will be operated one day per week, possibly two in the future between the hours of 6am and 6pm," the application said.
"One butcher and potentially [an] assistant would be employed on a contract basis as required to meet demand."
Solid waste will be transported to a licensed operator for rendering.
The application is available for public comment until May 4 and can be viewed on the council's website.
The new butcher and cafe, which will stock the meat if the abattoir is approved, are a part of a separate development application.
