Tasmania has recorded its fifth death from COVID-19, while Premier Peter Gutwein has foreshadowed new measures to restrict the outbreak on the North-West Coast.

Tasmania has had 133 confirmed cases, with 75 still fighting the virus and 53 recovered.
The fifth death was a woman in her 70s, who passed away at the North-West Regional Hospital.

Premier Peter Gutwein said he would not go into further details of the latest death, but he extended his condolences to the family.
"That's five too many and unfortunately there will be more," he said.
"Social distancing is the weapon that we have available to us and I would ask all Tasmanians to use that tool, use it to their advantage and help protect themselves, their families and loved ones and our community."
A further 11 cases were detected from the North-West on Saturday, following on from other cases in the preceding days, and further confirming the outbreak.
"Nine were health care workers and two were close contacts of health care workers on the North-West coast as well," Mr Gutwein said.
"These cases range from people in their 20s to people in their 60s."

Mr Gutwein said residents in the region would need to prepare for more restrictions.
"We have an outbreak," he said.
"This is serious, we are now literally in the fight of our lives.
"Things have to change, we need to get on top of this ... now, and importantly we need the community to work with us and to take the steps that we're going to be outlining this afternoon.
"I would hope that we can contain this ... it is all about containment."
