Kimmy and Rhi Harris started filming House Rules late last year and the Launceston locals said they were proud to be ambassadors for the region.
Coronavirus: All the latest updates on COVID-19 for Tasmania
"The more time we spent on the mainland, the more we realised how much we loved Tassie," Kimmy said.
"It's really nice to put Launceston on the map because usually everyone comes from Hobart or everything happens in Hobart so it's nice to give Launnie a little wave of the flag every now and then."
The pair, who grew up near Beaconsfield, are currently self-isolating and undertaking a 14-day quarantine because of the COVID-19 pandemic - but that hasn't dampened their spirits.
"The plan was to have a really nice big viewing party with all our friends and all that kind of stuff, but you know, corona," Rhi said.
"It'll be us with a bottle of wine and that'll be as fancy as it gets I reckon."
Competing on House Rules was something Kimmy and Rhi say they never thought they'd end up doing after friends encouraged the pair to apply to take part.
"We made the decision one afternoon late last year to put in the application when they were showing the ads on TV," Kimmy said.
"We watched pretty much most seasons, our mum's a really big fan as well. We used to go around and watch reveal nights and stuff with her on a Sunday which was always really cool."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Kimmy said the pair weren't nervous about how they'd be portrayed because appearing on House Rules was a positive experience.
"We're really close to our family so it was hard to be away from them while we were filming but you were just so busy all the time, that time just flew by," she said.
"I think it is a good time to have something feel good on the TV"
In the season premiere, which airs tonight at 7pm on Channel Seven, the pair are tasked with renovating a penthouse on the Gold Coast.
"We were all dressed in our work gear ready to go and we stepped foot onto the beach and we had no idea what was coming," Kimmy said.
"Me and Rhi had never been to Queensland or the Gold Coast. We started to notice there were more teams than there usually is, so we started to think something big might be coming our way."
