Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff told Friday morning's coronavirus media briefing that school holiday care would also be available for parents during the holidays which begin next week.

He said term two would begin on Tuesday April 28 to allow teachers to have a planning day on Monday April 27.

"Home learning will continue for most students in term two," Mr Rockliff said.

"There will be challenging moments for parents but you're not expected to be experts.

"I want parents to know that your child's teacher is still their teacher."

Mr Rockliff said vulnerable families were a priority.

"There are vulnerable families and I know that not every family has access to the internet so we are working on home packages which can be delivered," he said.

Premier Peter Gutwein told the briefing that the rate of cases of COVID-19 was dropping both nationally and in Tasmania.

However, he warned while that was encouraging there was no time for Tasmanians to be complacent.

"This is a long game," Mr Gutwein said. "We cannot get complacent."

The Premier, who will take part in a national cabinet meeting this morning, said he had also briefed both the Labor and Greens leaders this morning.

"It is important our political leaders are working together in the best interests of Tasmanians," Mr Gutwein said.

He also said he would head home to Launceston for the first time in three weeks to spend time with his family including his daughter Millie who celebrates her 16^th birthday this weekend.

Tasmanian currently has 74 cases of coronavirus with three confirmed cases on Thursday night.

One of the cases was employed by a tour company that hosted two interstate people who travelled in Tasmania last month before being diagnosed with coronavirus when they returned home.
