Keziah Brian John Grant's latest decision to drive with alcohol in his body landed him in Launceston Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The 24-year-old got behind the wheel after he'd been drinking because his partner wanted him to come home and he did not want to upset her, the court heard.
Magistrate Ken Stanton told the court Grant also later failed to front court because he forgot he had to.
Grant pleaded guilty to one count of failing to appear at court and one count of driving unlicensed while he had alcohol in his body.
Mr Stanton said Grant was previously caught drug driving three times and driving without a licence on four occasions.
The latest offending occurred while Grant was subject to a community corrections order, Mr Stanton said.
Grant was sentenced to 28-day term of imprisonment, wholly suspended for 12 months.
