The Isolation Beer Festival is the culmination of 22 Tasmanian breweries providing tasting guides, tours and other information about their operations via social media.
One such participant in the festival is Van Diemen Brewing - owner Will Tatchell said the festival was an opportunity for Tasmanians to throw their support behind local breweries while responsibly following social distancing guidelines.
"Pretty much all of Tassie's breweries are family-owned or small businesses that need this support at the moment," he said.
"Our revenue streams have dried up with the closure of pubs, but we still have some fresh beers for people."
Virtual attendees of the festival are encouraged to go to their local Tasmanian beer supplier to grab a few Tasmanian brews.
During this weekend, videos will be posted on the event's Facebook page from all the participating Tasmanian breweries.
These include Morrison's, Miners Gold, Shambles and Moo Brew breweries.
"We don't want anyone drinking alone. If we can provide a conversation and communication around beer - that's the idea of it," Mr Tatchell.
