The state tally of cases remains at 69, after three additional cases were confirmed last night.

"Public Health Services is continuing to investigate two cases in the Devonport area for which a source of infection has not been identified," Public Health director Mark Veitch said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Mersey Community Hospital's emergency department opening hours have been reduced, due to it not meeting the Tasmanian Health Service's model for managing coronavirus presentations.

"The THS has established separate areas within emergency departments to ensure infection control measures are maintained," Hospitals, North/North West chief executive Eric Daniels said. "The configuration of the MCH emergency department does not allow for this model."

"This means that from tomorrow night, the MCH emergency department will close at 10pm and reopen at 8am the next morning. It will then be open from 8am to 10pm daily.

"Patients presenting outside the opening hours will be redirected to other facilities."

Resources will now be redirected to the North West Regional Hospital as a result of the reduced opening hours at the Mersey.

Ambulance Tasmania is set to transport people who require emergency hospitalisation to the facility best placed to provide them the care they need.

"This measure will assist in effectively managing resources that can be best deployed to protect the community and our health care workers," Mr Daniels said.

"While this is a tough decision, it is the best option in these circumstances and consistent with our pandemic planning."
