David Fry and Janie Finlay say the election - deferred until May 30 - threatens public health and safety unless it moves to all postal voting.
MORE ON CORONAVIRUS IN TASMANIA:
Ms Finlay said postal voting would "keep everyone safe" and made sense.
"On Friday, I wrote to the Tasmanian Electoral Commission and requested that postal ballots be made available to all electors," she said.
"More postal votes, means less people gathering at polling places which will absolutely increase the safety of our electors."
Mr Fry said local government elections held in Queensland on Saturday "resulted in a great deal of confusion" with voters told to stay home but threatened with a fine for not voting.
"We are living in unprecedented times and it is imperative that the Government take this important step to protect the health and safety of voters, as well as Electoral Office staff and volunteers.
"We don't know what the next two months will bring. By planning now to proceed with a full postal vote, the election can go not only go ahead, but go ahead safely."
Attorney-General Elise Archer stood by comments last week that the later date would allow for steps to be taken to help voters with a postal or pre-poll vote.
