Neither the trials nor the Olympics are going ahead this year due to the coronavirus.
Two Northern swimmers are among the eight - teen backstroker Emily Mitchell, of Launceston Aquatic, and South Esk breaststroker Morgen Hawkins.
The other Tasmanians who would have taken part in qualifiers are Jardene Ralph, formerly of Launceston but now with Sandy Bay; Matilda Smith (Sandy Bay), and Max Giuliani, Jet Jankiewicz, Karl Wurzer and Jack Evans, all of Hobart Aquatic.
Age nationals are also cancelled, but the following swimmers qualified: Millie McGregor (Burnie), Andrew Nguyen (HC), Sophia MacDonald (HC), Kye Direen (HC), Sam Askey-Doran (HC), Jess Homan (Launceston Aquatic), Georgia Woods (LAC), Emily Mitchell (LAC), Matilda Smith (SB), Isabel Kirwan (SB), Hugh Dolle (South Esk), Blake Stretton (SE), Sophie Hills (SE), Max Giuliani (Hobart Aquatic), Noah Kamprad (HA), Liv Nichols (HA), James Clues (HA), Ella Chan (HA), and Jet Jankiewicz (HA).
Ethan Jones (HC), Daniel Shilcock (HC) and Lacy Kamprad (HA) achieved qualifying times but were too young to compete this year.
Swimming Tasmania said: "Although the 2020 age nationals and Olympic qualifying trials cannot go ahead this year, we wanted to acknowledge all the Tasmanian swimmers who qualified for these events and would have competed.
"This is a fantastic achievement in itself and reflects the dedication and hard work that our swimmers put in on a daily basis."
TOP TALENT
Four Tasmanians are named in Swimming Australia's top 25 national open rankings for the long-course season.
Morgen Hawkins, of South Esk, is sixth in women's 50m breaststroke and 14th in 100m.
Matilda Smith, of Sandy Bay, is 11th in 200m breaststroke, 18th in 100m and 21st in 50m.
Hobart Aquatic's Max Giuliani is 17th in the men's 100m freestyle and clubmate Karl Wurzer is 11th in the 50m breaststroke and 13th in 100m.
Former Hobart-based swimmer Stef McCarthy, who has relocated to Queensland, is 20th in 50m freestyle and 24th in 100m butterfly.
GOLDEN ERA
Aran Miller, who has represented his club, state and country with distinction over a number of years, has retired from competitive swimming, his family has said.
Miller, a multiclass swimmer from Exeter who trained with South Esk, accumulated an extensive collection of records and medals from all levels of competition.
In 2018, at the Down syndrome world swimming championships in Canada, Miller claimed 13 gold and two silver medals, seven world records and was named male swimmer of the meet. Along with his retirement, Miller has also announced his engagement to his girlfriend, Sam.
