People are being asked to put teddy bears in their windows for passing families, on walks or in cars, to spot them.
West Launceston resident Renee Saward and her family are joining in on the hunt.
The family put their teddy bears up about a week ago.
"A lady started a group on Facebook and I think a friend must have sent me an invite to join and we thought it was a good idea," Ms Saward said.

"It's just a great, fun idea to spread a bit of joy.
"[It's] something different for people taking their young children for a walk to look for and to make this difficult time a bit more enjoyable."
The family is changing the teddy bears in their windows and front yard each day with ones ranging from the classic looking teddy through to alpacas.
The Teddy Bear Hunt Facebook page has more than 2100 members posting their teddies in their windows from across Australia, the UK, New Zealand and the USA.
