Ms Sheehan was living in student accommodation in Newnham.
However, financial difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic have led her to return to her parents house at Latrobe for the immediate future.
Jacob Workman, head of student living communities for the North and North-West, said the university had waived notice periods for residents in student accommodation.
That means students are able to vacate their apartments immediately and cease paying rent.
"We are also well set up to support any students who may need to self-isolate," he said.
"Our student living support officers check in with residents on a regular basis to make sure they are well and have everything they need.
"This includes food and personal items, as well as ways to keep in touch online and engage in a range of community building and healthy activities.
"They have access to any of the university's academic, student and technological support they may need to continue to engage successfully in their studies.
He said the university was prioritising social distancing and good hygiene in all of its facilities.
