Tasmania has recorded its highest spike in COVID-19 cases with 11 new people diagnosed on Friday, including one health worker from the Mersey Community Hospital.

It brings the state's total number of confirmed coronavirus cases to 58.
Acting Director of Public Health Dr Scott McKeown said of the latest cases five were from the North, four from the South and two from the North-West .
The health worker diagnosed worked at Mersey Community Hospital.
Dr McKeown said an investigation was underway to determine the persons movement at work and in the community, to ascertain their close contacts and how they caught the virus.
Of the other cases eight were related to people who had been on cruise ships.
"These people had already been identified by PHS and were already in self-quarantine," he said.
Two other cases are people who have recently travelled to Tasmania from overseas.
Dr McKeown said 1779 tests had been conducted in Tasmania.
"The situation with coronavirus is changing regularly," he said.
