Launceston College is applying social distancing measures in a bid to proceed with its 2020 production Flash Dance-The Musical during the COVID-19 crisis.

Principal Vicki Mackrill said Launceston College was continuing with the learning programme but reviewing on a day to day basis.
"We are keeping students socially distant and changing aspects of the production so as to keep everyone safe and healthy," she said.

Ms Mackrill said it was uncertain what would happen by the end of the year.
"What we are hoping to be able to continue with the learning and if necessary, film the production for public viewing, but who knows if this will be possible," she said.
Ms Mackrill said the future of the Launceston College Dance Fever production would be reviewed at the beginning of term 2.
"This week, our LC Dance Fever students had their usual session but it is possible it could be cancelled," she said.
Flash Dance is an accredited level 2 course with learning outcomes and assessment attached.
Launceston College announced its cast and crew just a month ago.
COVID-19 has dealt the arts community a blow with cancellations of the following performances:
