Seven of the cases are from Southern Tasmania. The other case is from Northern Tasmania.
Director of Public Health Mark Veitch said 1139 tests had been conducted in the state so far.

"Public Health Services has commenced contacting these people to investigate their movements," he said.
"And to identify and contact any of their close contacts so that these people can be placed in self-quarantine."
