Brandon Malcolm Charlesworth was a disqualified driver and driving recklessly when he evaded police on three occasions between November 17- 20 last year.
On three occasions he did not stop at the scene of a crash.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Magistrate Simon Brown sentenced Charlesworth to three months for the first count in which he drove onto the wrong side of the road and sped at 5.30am.
He handed Charlesworth four-months jail for evading police under aggravated circumstances when he was a disqualified driver and driving recklessly.
Mr Brown sentenced him to a further three-months jail for evading police under aggravated circumstances by having an illicit drug in his system.
He ordered three months of the sentence to be served concurrently with the other sentences making the total jail sentence seven months backdated to November 20.
Mr Brown said the offending was serious and Charlesworth had serious prior convictions.
He rejected an application from defence counsel James Oxley for the sentence to be served under the terms of a drug treatment order.
"I do not believe that a drug treatment order was appropriate given his record and the number of offences, even bearing in mind his youth," Mr Brown said.
He was also disqualified from driving for two years from release. Charlesworth pleaded guilty to two counts of stealing and numerous less serious driving offences.
