Launceston's Colonial Hotel has gone from an occupancy of 90 per cent to 10 per cent, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Dale Pentland, who has owned the National Trust heritage property for the past 18 years, said he was doing everything he could to keep staff employed.
"As our industry transitions through this difficult time and many face uncertainties ahead ... we must work together to find the best way forward," he said.
"We are indebted to our fantastic team at this hotel of 35."

The hotel's restaurant has closed, but is offering home deliveries.
