I am so sick of all the media repartee and also understand that all should and must be shared, albeit perhaps mass hysteria.

I do understand that people will die, some people will get the virus without even knowing about it, and some people will get the flu, this is reality.

We cannot stand together because we will then infect each other, but we can stand apart and help each other in ways we have not even invented or thought of.

So children cannot go to school?

Teach them all about game playing, how to cook, clean and grow vegetables.

We are too scared to interact with theatres, shows, concerts, so let us learn poetry, reading, watching old reruns and learning new words or languages. Perhaps it is time for apartness, but when this all ends, we will be in an educated amazing race of humanity.

IT is almost excusable that some organisations allowed themselves to become vulnerable by over depending on factors that now prove to be unreliable - universities on Chinese students, tourism on cheap airfares and cruise liners etc. After all, just about everyone else did not see the danger.

There can be no excuse in allowing our electricity systems to suffer the same fate by depending too much on intermittent power sources such as solar and wind.

TASMANIANS deserve to know why a prohibition order banning dangerous and unsafe work practices by the Bob Brown Foundation was suddenly withdrawn.

The order was issued after a category 1, reckless conduct incident involving the BBF occurred, and it was reported to WorkSafe Tasmania. The safety regulator has issued statewide orders in the past in similar circumstances where incidents have occurred that expose a risk of death or injury.

At the hearing, before a short adjournment for lunch, WST was sticking by its decision.

But on return, withdrew the prohibition order in its entirety, without presenting any evidence or providing any explanation.

What advice did WST receive over lunch that led to the sudden change of mind, and by whom? Elise Archer as the minister responsible must answer these questions.

She must explain to all businesses in Tasmania why work health and safety laws are not being applied equally.

Knowing about the dangerous incident that occurred, I do not believe the prohibition order was issued under any political influence. However, the sudden change of mind reeks of political interference. Once again, the government has shown they are afraid of taking Bob.

IN the olden days before we had all these advanced gadgets we found other things to do. Collecting things, animals and gardening are good hobbies. They get people out of the house into the garden, looking after pets or racing around to find that piece for their collection. In some cases, we need to go back to the old ways.
