The number of coronavirus cases in Tasmania has risen by six, bringing the state's total number of confirmed cases to 28.

The tally rose by six on Monday, with four cases having travelled on the Ruby Princess cruise ship that arrived in Sydney on March 19.
Another case travelled on the Celebrity Solstice cruise ship that arrived in Sydney on March 20 and the other case had recently returned from overseas.

Public Health Director Mark Veitch said there was no evidence of community transmission in Tasmania.
"All 28 cases to date are directly linked to overseas travel or cruise ships, or to people who have travelled overseas," he said.
Three of the people are from Northern Tasmania and three are from Southern Tasmania.

The two people who had yet to be contacted from the 54 Tasmanians aboard the Ruby Princess have now been contacted and will be monitored in quarantine.
