Uncertainty of coronavirus has forced the NBL1 South to push back the start of games from April 18 to May 15.
Less than 24 hours since postponing the season start, Premier Peter Gutwein then announced all non-essential travel from the Australian mainland will incur a 14-day self-isolation period.
Tornadoes chairman Neil Grose was aware of possible implications on the club.
"We are heading towards business as usual if we get a season started in May, but we just need to understand what that looks like," he said.
"There is a whole range of complications in that now with travel restrictions for non-essential travel and that has only come out [Thursday morning], so we will have to consider what that means.
COVID AFFAIRS: Targa Tasmania called off
"On the face of it, there will be no travel in and out of the state and I am pretty sure the interstate basketball teams will not want to quarantine for 14 days either before they play a game in Tasmania."
The club had yet to speak to the players at the time of the annoucement, but planned to retain its imports on contract until the Tornadoes have greater certainty.
Clubs were told that group training sessions should be suspended over COVID-19 until further notice. Torns coach Sarah Veale has been working on individual programs to keep players fit and ready to play in two months.
Grose believed the club should be able to cope with the inconvenience this year.
"We are financially able to weather the storm," he said.
"If we don't have a season at all, we'll be right. We have really good sponsors, a good core group of local players and a local coach who is like 500 per cent committed to the Torns program."
