The Launceston Chamber of Commerce, Cityprom and local businesses are uniting to promote the importance of supporting the community during the coronavirus outbreak.

Chamber chief executive Neil Grose said the 'Buy Local' campaign was aimed at getting momentum around local spending.
"The best form of stimulus we could ever do is for locals to support local businesses," he said.
"What the government does is really important, but if all 100,000 Northern Tasmanians spend $100 a week in local businesses that's a huge amount of money that's staying here."
Cityprom acting executive officer Amanda McEvoy said the organisation has made sure all CBD businesses are up-to-date on the latest health advice and government guidelines.
She said Cityprom will also support business owners and employees who are struggling mentally due to coronavirus hardships.
"Everyone's being provided with the information they need to be acting appropriately and staying as safe as possible," she said.
