Launceston Grammar has requested that any student, their families or staff members who have returned from overseas in the past two weeks to self-isolate.

The school announced the measure on Monday morning, following on from Scotch Oakburn College's decision to cancel classes and introduce e-learning and the Tasmanian government's directive to introduce social distancing measures in schools.
The Launceston Grammar action involves self-isolation for 14 days from the date of arrival.
School headmaster Richard Ford said it was a proactive response, as the school was yet to have a confirmed case of coronavirus.
"As a state we have significantly less cases of coronavirus than the mainland and the more we can do to slow transmission the better," he said.

"The school's leadership is prioritising the importance of the health and safety of all in our school community and preparing IT infrastructure in the event of enforced School closure to move to an online environment."
The school will close for the day on Friday in order to test online capacity for learning platforms.
Launceston Grammar also announced the cancellation of the following events:
- all assemblies and Chapel services
- inter-school sport including Head of the River, National Schools Rowing, SATIS Swimming
- Grade 9 Port Arthur excursion
- Grandparents and Special Friends Day
- Mamma Mia excursion
- Grade 6 Canberra trip
- Walkathon
- Junior Campus Soiree
- Class of '55 Reunion
- Elizabeth Street chapter lunch
- Junior campus Easter service
- Back to the '80s
