Elections for the upper house seats of Rosevears, which encompasses the West Tamar municipal area and parts of Launceston including Riverside, Trevallyn, West Launceston, Summerhill and almost all of Prospect, and Huon in the state's South are due to be held on Saturday May 2.
Tasmanian Electoral Commission deputy commissioner Ngaire Edwards said the electoral body had been in discussions with the government about what measures may need to be taken in relation to the elections amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"We have briefed the government and we are just waiting for guidance on that," Ms Edwards said.
"We are hoping to have more information in the next couple of days."
