Metro wanted to build a bus stop in Ainslie Grove, but 29 people signed a petition which called on the City of Launceston council to oppose it because of safety concerns.
In a report to councillors, the council's infrastructure and engineering manager Michael Newby recommended the creation of a new bus stop in Ainslie Grove be opposed.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Council officers have worked with the state government and Metro to negotiate a preferred outcome that utilises an existing bus stop on Normanstone Road...rather than creating a new bus stop in Ainslie Grove,' he advised.
Councillors will meet on Thursday to make a final decision on the bus stop proposal.
