Opposition from a small group of residents looks set to stop a Metro Tasmania push to build a new bus stop in South Launceston.
Metro wanted to build a bus stop in Ainslie Grove, but 29 people signed a petition which called on the City of Launceston council to oppose it because of safety concerns.
In a report to councillors, the council's infrastructure and engineering manager Michael Newby recommended the creation of a new bus stop in Ainslie Grove be opposed.
