Ticket holders have the option of a refund, transferring their ticket to the rescheduled season, or donating the price to support the viability of the company.

Meanwhile, the Australian Musical Theatre Festival, which runs in Launceston from May 21 to 24, is holding a board meeting on Wednesday with information to be provided by major supporter Events Tasmania.

All upcoming performances of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra are on hold until further notice, but the orchestra will continue rehearsing and performing for digital content via its website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel.

The TSO Box Office will be in touch with all those who hold tickets to concerts that fall within this period to discuss the options available to them.

The TSO's online "Daily Dose" will include concert footage, interviews, behind-the-scenes glimpses and rehearsal clips.

The planned jazz workshop with Sandy Evans on March 19 and concert on March 21 has been cancelled and will be rescheduled "as soon as practicable". Ticket-holders will be contacted and refunded.

"I am a carer for two very vulnerable people who live with me," Ms Evans said.

"At this time, I have to consider their health as a priority.

"Hence the risk of either having to self-isolate after travelling, or catching the virus is one I need to mitigate against as much as possible at this time."
