The opposition for the Latrobe Recreation Ground clash will feature the likes of Erin Fazackerley, Emma Thompson-Flint, Courtney Webb and Maisy Gibson, but to Cotton and her troops they will "just be another cricketer".

"They still have to perform on the day, and they will have a high level of skill and ability and we respect that, but they are just cricketers,'' she said on Friday.

"I know some will really rise to the occasion and take that on and show we have good cricketers up here as we know we are carrying the reputation of a region."

Being the face of North-West and North women's cricket is something her group has embraced on their way to a second-placed finish in the Twenty20 competition.

"I'll also be telling them to look what we've done before, we've defied expectations to get here and we've beaten Clarence before, and we tend to hold good teams with our bowling and fielding, so it is a game we have an opportunity to win no matter who is in Clarence's team,'' Cotton said.

"There is some commentary around that some of the Hobart girls have been quite surprised by our bowling with our line and length and that we've been harder to get away as we don't give them too many bad balls, so continuing that on into the semi-final will be very important.

"We will just try to play like it's any other game and we know if we put our best performance in, which I don't think we have yet to be honest, we can just continue on and hopefully win the game."

Co-coach Darren Simmonds said the team just needed to "do what we have doing all season".

"Our bowling unit has been terrific all season and have allowed us to stay in most games this season and we'll be looking to do that again,'' he said.

While he admitted Clarence's star quartet did provide a "real challenge", he was confident his group had the right plans in place.

"For us all season it has been about our 11 players each game contributing to a win, we just haven't relied on one or two as we have depth in our side and that is what has held us in good stead across the course of the season,'' he said.

Sunday's final will start at 2.30pm.
