The Devils on Sunday travel to Kilsyth Recreation Reserve to face an Eastern Ranges also chasing its first win of the year, with Humphries saying this week's opposition, which reached last year's preliminary final, was a far friendlier match-up than the Oakleigh Chargers outfit which defeated her side by 102 points.
"I've watched Ranges vision and they seem similar to us, so I think it will be a good contest and a good hit out for the girls,'' Humphries said.
"They have a similar game style as us as they just like to get the ball moving forward, so we can set up really well behind play for that and our defence has been trying to counteract that at training and I do think we will get them on the physicality this week.
"The girls were quite positive after the game, so we just want to see them continue to do what we focused on in the pre-season, as there is no reason to change anything now as it is just one of nine games.
"We will just move on from it and continue to do what we have been training for. To see them continuing to press on throughout the game despite the scoreline was really pleasing as it is upwards from here."
Sunday's game will be part of a busy weekend for Humphries as she gets her first taste of her coaching role on match day after her duties as an emergency for the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos last week forced her to watch her Devils from the team hotel.
After again being left out of North's starting line-up for Friday's clash with Geelong, she will have emergency duties at GMHBA Stadium, before a VFLW practice match against the Cats on Saturday ahead of the Devils' Sunday outing.
Humphries has named an unchanged team with North Launceston trio Ella Maurer, Zoe Bourne and Kara Hennessy, Launceston trio Kiara Mills, co-captain Camilla Taylor and Aprille Crooks, South Launceston's Liana Freestone and East Launceston's Jemma Blair getting another taste.
The match will start at 1pm.
