The company is not confirming whether it is related to coronavirus.
RACT Group CEO Mark Mugnaioni said the decision was made on Thursday, March 12 to temporarily close the Devonport Branch and cancel driver training lessons in Devonport and Burnie.
"We have carefully considered this decision and taken this step as a precautionary measure until we can confirm the full nature of the issue," he said.
"This is a proactive measure taken by RACT at this stage and does not imply that there is a heightened risk to staff or visitors to the branch.
"We are monitoring the situation closely and will update our activities as necessary."
