Aimed at 2-12-year-olds, the non-competitive program runs in every other Australian state and is set to kick off with sessions at Riverside and Mowbray at the beginning of the second school term in May.

Area manager David Manktelow, who recently flew to Perth to learn the program, said he was looking forward to helping youngsters get off the couch and into a fun outdoor environment.

"My background is in footy and I did play soccer when I was a bit younger, but in my job with the gym I've always had a passion for getting kids into sport and getting active," the EFM Windsor fitness coach and former Meander Valley Suns boss said.

"When I saw this opportunity wasn't in Tassie I thought 'there's a bit of a market' and the key thing that got me was the [title of] number one non-competitive soccer program in Australia."

The program caters for five different age-groups, with parents encouraged to get involved in the sessions for 2-3 and 4-5-year-olds.

The shortest sessions run for 35 minutes while the longest take 75 minutes.

The program will start on weekends but will likely expand to include after-school sessions and even a school holiday tournament carnival.

"It's designed so kids all get a touch - its fast flowing and no kids on the sideline," Manktelow said. "The starting point is about kids having fun - simple drills and getting confident using the ball."
