What was first a transport option for people and then became one for food is introducing pets to the list of cargo it carries. Uber Pet launches on Tuesday and will cost about $7 on top of the standard ride fee. Initially the service will only be available to people and pets in Sydney and Brisbane. But if it proves popular, Uber will consider expanding to Launceston and other other locations around Australia. Owners of service animals won't need to pay extra for Uber Pet because their companions are legally allowed to travel everywhere with them already.
