The Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service is advertising for a lead consultant to design a new shelter.
Parks Minster Roger Jaensch said the new shelter would provide creature comforts for visitors and Tasmanians alike.
"The project will also include concept plans for additional facilities and features that can be added to the shelter in time," Mr Jaensch said.
In other news:
"In recent years there has been increased interest in summer activities in the park with its walks, stunning wildflowers and rich variety of bird life, as well as the ever popular winter snowfield activities.
"This is one of many projects to improve the visitor experience at Ben Lomond National Park and is part of a $31 million investment by the Tasmanian Liberal government into our parks and improving infrastructure."
Tenders are being called to undertake the design and planning for the shelter.
Documents are available at www.tenders.tas.gov.au and submissions close on March 18, 2020.
