The Harp Island's special guest tutor this year for its conference is Singaporean renowned harpist Katryna Tan. The event is in its 16th year and celebrates the musical talent of harpists from across Tasmania and the world, with about 29 harpists attending last year's event. Ms Tan took home the 2005 Young Artist Award from Singapore's National Arts Council. Participants will attends lessons, classes and rehearsals from today before the the finale concert on Monday. This will be the third year the event has been held at Grindelwald. Tickets are available online at www.harpsocietytasmania.org or at the door to the March 9 concert at 2pm. They are $10 for adults and $10 for concession.
