The clinic's establishment follows the state's first diagnosed case in the city for the virus.

The mobile clinic has been supplied by the Royal Flying Doctor Service Tasmania and is located close to the Launceston General Hospital's emergency department.

Health Minister Sarah Courtney said the clinic would minimise the risk of transmission of coronavirus in general practice, outpatient clinics and hospital emergency departments.

She said more clinics would be established in Tasmania in coming weeks.

People who wish to be tested at the clinic need to first contact the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 for assessment.

Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man who tested positive for coronavirus on Monday remains in a stable condition at the LGH.

Public Health director Mark Veitch said 66 people had been tested to date and each received a negative result for coronavirus.

There has only been one positive test.

"We continue to speak with close contacts of the man who tested positive daily, monitoring them for any symptoms and testing them if needed," Dr Veitch said.

He said anyone on flight VA-1368 Melbourne to Launceston on Saturday, February 29, or anyone who was at Woolworths on the corner of Wellington and York streets Launceston between 10pm and 10.15pm on Sunday, March 1, who is feeling unwell should contact the Public Health Hotline.
