Sara Redman and her son Cameron Kirkby are excited about being able to let their greyhound Speedy run around with other greyhounds in a safe, public space for the first time.
"We'll come here probably every day," Ms Redman said.

"I'm so proud of the council and that they're leading the way nationally.
"This is a good example of Launceston again punching above its weight."
After a two-week public consultation period ends today, City of Launceston council will meet to make a final decision on establishing the greyhound area.
