The crash occurred on Hobblers Bridge Road, Newstead, about 4pm.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred near the bridge.
A white utility landed on its side as a result of the impact, but did not fall into the river.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The road was closed to all traffic and traffic was diverted around the scene. Police remained there for about two hours.
Motorists were asked to avoid the area until further notice. The road was reopened about 6pm.
A number of emergency service vehicles attended the scene including Tasmania Police and Ambulance Tasmania.
Only minor injuries were reported. The cause of the crash has not been released.
