The organisation lost its state government funding in 2019 when it was re-allocated to the NDIS, leaving the organisation in need of funding to continue operating.
In other news:
New Horizons chief executive Belinda Kitto said the organisation applied for three rounds of the NDIS's Information, Linkages and Capacity grants - all of which were pushed back.
"We feel that our work in providing meaningful physical and social activity for people with disability is absolutely an insurance in helping to prevent serious issues and social isolation ... it also plays a critical role in building more inclusive communities," she said.
"However, it seems that New Horizons Tasmania does not fit with NDIS priorities, which means at the moment our future is very uncertain."
Bass MHR Bridget Archer said she intends to meet with NDIS Minister Stuart Robert next week and said she will continue to lobby for the issue.
