Tasmania Turf Club chief executive Peter Scott said even from Launceston the impact of coronavirus has been felt, with a group from China cancelling due to the coronavirus.
"We lost a table of ten because of the coronavirus, that's the impact that it has right down here," he said.
"I think our reach is that far, there's the business connections we have with China and it was one of our good supporters that had to pull out because of it [the coronavirus]."

Mr Scott said the race will still be a massive day for the thousands who are slated to come to the day.
"It's a massive day for us - it's one of the best social days on the calendar in Tassie," he said.
"We're looking forward to a big day's racing, there's plenty of support feature races.
"It's [the Launceston Cup] one of the most celebrated and successful regional cups in Australia, it's really good."
