Bass Labor MHA Jen Butler has called for action before a serious crash occurs.
"Young children from the Campbell Town School are being forced to negotiate trucks and cars on one of Tasmania's busiest and most dangerous highways to access the sports precinct - it's an accident waiting to happen," Ms Butler said.
"This week students from the school have needed to cross the busy highway twice a day to access the learn to swim program at the local pool."

Infrastructure Minister Michael Ferguson said the project requires more complex considerations about disability access, underground utilities, and the limitations of various designs.
"We will continue to work through these challenges, taking into account community feedback, to deliver a fit for purpose solution within the budget allocation - as we said we would do," he said.
