Gridiron Tasmania's season decider between minor premier Hobart Knights and outsider Launceston Gorillas is a clash that nobody was prepared for three weeks ago.
The Devils are not only aiming for rare back-to-back titles, but is set to challenge from the team's unequalled sixth straight Tiger Bowl since the inaugural 2015 game.
The Gorillas only sneaked into third place and a playoff game to enter the Tiger Bowl.
Launceston head coach Brett Wheildon expects the championship game to be a hard-fought contest.
"The last time we played the Knights they beat us by two points," Wheildon said.
"We're now really charging forward and our momentum is going forward.
"But I would never ever sell the Knights short.
"They are an amazing opponent.

"They bring a lot of fire, a lot of passion and a lot of strength to our game."
The Gorillas have returned to their first Tiger Bowl for three years after becoming a staple of the first three.
Wheildon said the side has overcome its earlier season jitters and have timed their title run almost flawlessly.
The Devils know that too.
"They've watched us a bit - but they haven't played us since we've started charging home," Wheildon said.
"I have had a few of their guys say to me that we're looking real good now.
"So it's going to be a different game.
"Finals are always different, especially the Tiger Bowl, but this is going to be the game of the season."
The gameday coach will turn to quarterback Marcus Dornhauf, wide receivers Tas Little and Beau Tuthill, and Josh Smith, who plays both sides of the ball, in Hobart.
Fullback Matt Cameron, however, has been in doubt after sustaining a knee injury.
